ANZAC Portraits

To commemorate ANZAC day 2022 we held an event for girls & women, to remember family ancestors with a Story-Telling Portrait. An opportunity to wear medals or keepsakes from parents, grandparents or great-grandparents in an iconic portrait to honour their lives.

This idea came from my own desire to quite literally step into my Grandfathers shoes and wear his medals, to create a portrait 'conversation-starter’ so I can share his and my Grandmothers stories and keep them alive and relevant to my teens, and younger generations.

Remembering family members who gave their lives in service to peacekeeping operations, and those who served and died in all wars and conflicts. A portion of proceeds was donated to UNHCR to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, to support peace, freedom and new beginnings. ⁠
